In Surah Hud (11:42–43), Allah ﷻ recounts a heart-wrenching exchange between Nuh (a) and his son:

As Allah’s ﷻ justice floods the earth, He ﷻ draws a clear line through Nuh’s response: There are no bystanders today: you are either on the boat and with those who believe, or you are not.
As the world continues to witness a now two-year-long livestreamed genocide, and yet another effort to break the siege — the Sumud flotilla — has come to an end, these verses feel especially relevant.
We are either on the boat, or we are not.
We are either bystanders and complicit, or among the few who choose to act.
The Prophet ﷺ reminds us that when we witness a wrong, we must change it with our hand, our tongues, or at the very least, acknowledge in our hearts that it is wrong.
Today, we’re asking you to do all three: Make sincere du’a for those in Palestine. When it comes from the heart, du’a embodies all three forms of action — raised hands, a moving tongue, and a believing heart. Here’s a du’a to start with if you feel stuck:
رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْهِم صَبْراً وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَهُم وَٱنصُرْهُم عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
Our Lord! Shower them with perseverance, make their steps firm, and give them victory over the disbelieving people.
Want to do more? Small, consistent acts go a long way. Whether it’s donations, advocacy, or sharing truth, pick one tangible action that you can incorporate into your life on a regular basis.
